Research has shown that frequent use of a sauna can prolong life, improve sleep quality, burn excess fat, and decrease your chances of dying from heart disease by as much as 70%. Health benefits aside, the heat from an infrared steam sauna soothes your nerve endings and relaxes your muscles. It causes your body to release endorphins and enkephalins and gives you a euphoric feeling. As we age or get sicker, our cells get worse at utilizing oxygen.

Dr. Velio Bocci of University of Siena Department of Physiology and his team's research has shown ozone sauna can result in higher blood oxygen levels compared to a regular steam sauna. The reason is that ozone improves the body’s ability to absorb, deliver, and utilize oxygen. Ozone also modulates the immune system (ie. ozone can reduce inflammation or if your immune system is sluggish, ozone sauna can improve it by stimulating cytokine function.)
Ozone stimulates detoxification and increases antioxidant enzymes by as much as 300% to eliminate free radicals that are the cause of aging and all chronic degenerative diseases. Ozone also increases nitric oxide production. Nitric oxide is critical for heart, circulatory health, immune function, blood pressure, and sexual function (Viagra works by increasing nitric oxide levels). Ozone sauna is great for the skin since the skin is loaded with dendritic cells and ozone can activate their function by as much as 400%. Activating dendritic cell function improves our immune system. Ozone is the most powerful disinfectant. There are no known microbes (Bacteria, fungi, and viruses) that are resistant to ozone. Ozone is effective at killing even super antibiotic-resistant bugs.
Unlike other ozone saunas, HOCATT™ has incorporated technologies to augment the effect of ozone therapy and improve results to make each session as efficient and effective as possible. In our HOCATT™ sauna, you will be sitting in a personal enclosed pod with your head outside of the pod. Carbonic Acid will first be used to open your skin pores and dilate peripheral capillaries to prepare your skin for better ozone absorption. During your session, our infrared steam sauna will also bath you in far-infrared light (FIR). FIR has been shown to increase the production of human growth hormone, increase collagen production, improve insulin sensitivity, and increase metabolic rate to assist fat loss and cellulite reduction.
Nasal oxygen cannulas will be provided for you to breathe in more oxygen during treatment. Ozone is irritating to respiratory tissues, so 45 seconds before the session ends, a catalytic ozone destructor will be turned on to eliminate all remaining ozone before you exit the pod for your safety and for the safety of our staff.
The following are common conditions ozone sauna may be beneficial
A HOCATT™ session can be dehydrating. The day before and the day of your session, please hydrate with mineral water or water with electrolytes. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated drinks (coffee, caffeinated tea, energy drinks, etc.) during the same time frame as they would dehydrate you. Do not take Vitamin C or drink orange (citric) juice the day of the treatment as Vitamin C can dampen the effects of ozone. Please continue to hydrate during the days following after your treatment.
If you have heart conditions, you should consult your cardiologist before doing a HOCATT™ session. Steam or hot saunas must not be used during pregnancy. If you have uncontrolled high blood pressure hot sauna may worsen the condition. If you are taking medications that impair sweating or increase health risks from heat exposure, a hot sauna is contraindicated. If you have cutaneous porphyria, ozone saunas may aggravate the symptoms. There is one reported case of a client with Vitiligo patches getting larger after a few HOCATT™ sessions. If you have Vitiligo, doing a HOCATT™ infrared steam sauna will be at your own risk.
