Pulsed electromagnetic fields therapy is contraindicated for individuals who: are pregnant; suffer from epilepsy or seizures; have electrical implants such as a pacemaker, cochlear implant, intrathecal pump, insulin pump, etc; are an organ transplant recipient; are menstruating or have a bleeding tendency, ie. hemophilia (PEMF enhances blood circulation which may increase bleeding.); have an overactive thyroid, ie.
